Ikebana Light"

A flat panel LED light by Peter Stathis won the Best Lighting Award at ICFF this year. Called Ikebana it's inspired by the traditional art of Japan with the same name.
Practiced for more than 600 years, Ikebana ("arranged flower") is a disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. It recreates nature on a reduced scale with flowers with an implied meaning in the arrangement which can symbolize heaven, earth and humanity.
"Ikebana is also a contemporary light, merging poetics with technology, decoration with function, and aesthetics with ideology, in creating a perceived and highly symbolic beauty - a neo-nature for today's solid-state world."
Ikebana's unique form is made possible by proprietary Front Light Optical Waveguide technology. The light head can be adjusted a full 360° in all axes, has variable height control, and its specialized optics solves problems common to other LED's; light takes on a softer edged more-natural character, multiple shadowing and glare are eliminated, and the color is warm and luminous.
